Our group has been assigned the topic of ‘Weblogs, Wikis and E-Portfolios’. I have been looking into examples of Weblogs and have come accross an interesting blog called YouthNetwork that supports youth workers, community health workers and other groups interested in youth sexual health issues. The purpose of the blog is to provide information for users while also acting as a social networking place. I have found this example to be interesting as it is a blog that could also be beneficial for DoCS workers.

For my group’s wiki page, I will need to prepare the following:

In small groups, students will be required to research examples of specific groups of technologies in educational settings and present these on a wiki.

The group wiki and topics to be researched will be allocated by the lecturer.

Each member of the group will be required to contribute an example.

Each example will address the following:

·     describe the use of the particular technology,

·     the context of the learners and where learning is situated,

·     the benefits of the technology in this context,

the challenges, disadvantages or any issues of the described technology in the example’s context.
